MacLoud Investment Company, LLC, is a privately held family partnership based in Birmingham, AL.

Formed in 2002 by the McMahon family, our primary focus is on making long term investments in small to medium size manufacturing companies. We also make a variety of real estate investments, primarily in the office and distribution/warehouse markets.

MacLoud, or affiliated companies, has controlling interests in the businesses of hydraulic cylinders, aluminum castings, labels and decals, dump trailers, electric motor repair, and minority involvement in paper/janitorial supplies and hospice care.

Additionally, in 1996 the family founded the Pleiad Foundation, which makes charitable contributions throughout the Birmingham and the Central Alabama area.

Our Bios

Jamey McMahon

Jamey McMahon is a founding partner of MacLoud Investment Company. In addition, he is the Chairman of Ligon Capital, Jorden Industries, and a partner at EverGreen Manufacturing.  He is also a member of the Pleiad Foundation, a family foundation that supports charities, non-profits and educational entities primarily in Central Alabama.

Jamey currently serves on the Board of Directors of Southern Research Institute and is a trustee on the Birmingham-Southern College Board of Trustees, where he graduated college with a BS degree. 

Like his brother Joel, Jamey is an avid fan of all things Alabama, especially the football and basketball squads, and is a proud father of three graduates of the University of Alabama.

JOEL MCMAHON

Joel McMahon is a founding partner of MacLoud Investment Company. In addition, he is the Chairman and CEO of Jay Industrial Repair in Birmingham. He also is a member of the Pleiad Foundation, a family foundation that supports charities, non-profits and educational entities primarily in Central Alabama. 

Joel is active in the Birmingham Business Alliance (BBA), which promotes economic interests of Birmingham and the surrounding metro area and serves on their executive committee. Joel also serves on the President’s cabinet at the University of Alabama and is an avid fan of all things Alabama – particularly golf, basketball and football

Joel graduated from Birmingham Southern College with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
